The Rhythm bottom unit/outsole was created for the rapidly evolving mountain bike rider that demands uncompromising grip & performance on and off the bike. Working with pro riders and enthusiasts we created a lightweight and fast design that paired a stiff composite plate with high-traction Tachyon rubber outsole. Important design considerations were maximum pedal contact balanced with minimal lightweight rubber and stiff/fast narrow base with maximum dirt and rocks traction.
The PowerTruss plate elevates how stiff a composite sole plate can be. It was designed to give a value-minded rider the stiffness approaching carbon fiber plates with an innovative and iconic form. The PowerTruss geometry at the mid-foot is a first-of-its-kind micro-truss system that dramatically increases stiffness with minimal added weight.
