OMW BOOT

 Riding in winter doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. The OMW Boot was born out of asking riders what they needed to maximize their experience on and off the bike during a winter’s ride. To do this we partnered with the waterproofing innovators at OutDry and took the waterproof barring to the very outside and surrounded the foot with the most thermally efficient insulation possible. We then made that toasty interior removable for easy drying. In an emerging sport lacking products designed specifically for the athletes, we created, tested and verified (via 3M Test Labs) the “most thermally efficient winter cycling boot on the market.”

 A ‘core layering’ approach quickly gained favor with riders as it made use of the same versatile system they use on their core. To keep the cold and water far away from the foot we partnered with OutDry and worked with their engineers and the factory to solve the complexities involved with using the technology in a two-piece boot system.  3M Thinsulate proved to be the most effective and stable insulation package to protect riders from the cold. (3M's labs later concluded that the OMW boot was indeed "the most thermally efficient winter cycling boot.") Additionally a new last was designed to create extra room around the forefoot while using a lower volume sole to achieve a nimble and versatile winter cycling solution.
